It is definitely the one to visit in Johor. This famous Hindu temple is the only Hindu glass temple in the world! This gorgeous revamped look, which used about 300 000 glass pieces of various shades, has become a truly beautiful work of art. Ever since its revamp, it has since then attracted many devotees and tourists to visit the temple. The colourful glass pieces, along with the glass chandeliers makes the perfect magical appearance when light reflects off the glass pieces, and it makes the temple even more gorgeous!

This century old temple was built in 1911 and was originally known as Mariamman Temple. The temple is constructed in Dravidian style, which is a Southern Indian architectural style. The temple walls are covered with various beautiful Hindu art and carvings and the main tower, called the Gopuram, is light cream in colour and has colorful deities surrounding the tiers. This temple is visited by worshipers who offer prayers on a daily basis.
Known to be one of the oldest temple in Johor Bahru, the history of Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple, also known as the Old Temple, dates back to more than a hundred and forty years, but it underwent a revamp between 1995-96! The temple is devoted to five ancient deities and symbolizes unity between the 5 different clans of Chinese dialect which are Hakka, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew and Hainan. It is also believed to be the only standing structure that survived the bombings of WWII. Every year, during Chinggay this temple attracts even a larger crowd who come to witness the ceremonial procession, as the deities are taken out of the temple and carried all around Johor Bahru to give its blessings to the locals.
