S.E.A Aquarium Singapore – Largest oceanarium in the world
Singapore proudly houses the largest oceanarium in the world, which is none other than the S.E.A. Aquarium. Situated in Resort World Sentosa, this sea aquarium is home to more than hundred thousand aquatic creatures, belonging to over 1000 marine life species! S.E.A. Aquarium has the biggest collection of manta rays including the only giant manta ray kept in captivity. There are also many other sea creatures like the whale shark, lndo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, goliath groupers, eels, lobsters, jellyfishes, sea cucumbers, stingrays, clown fish and leopard sharks etc, and you can observe all of these intriguing aquatic animals through the see-through glass tank. The habitats of these marine life include the Straits of Malacca, Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, lakes of East Africa among others.
The main attraction in S.E.A. Aquarium is definitely the immense viewing panel at the Open Ocean tank, which will totally mesmerize you. Get up close with the huge manta rays and other marine creatures as they elegantly swim across the waters.
The Discovery Touch Pool is another highlight in S.E.A. Aquarium. You can touch the starfish and sea cucumbers, sea urchin and learn more about them. But please refrain from poking them or squeezing them as you will hurt these creatures.
Shark lovers will love the Shark Seas where you can sight more than two hundred sharks such as the hammerhead shark and nurse shark, along with a few endangered species like the silvertip shark and hammerhead shark.
There are also gift shops selling souvenirs that you can take back home and keep as memories. You can also dine at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora if you would like to enjoy a meal with the manta rays and other marine life! It is a once in a lifetime experience!
