The museum features 13 themes, including: Remembering 1942 – which brings back the tearful recount of how Singapore fell into the hands of the Japanese occupation and the gallery at We built a Nation, talks about how Singapore gained independence and became who they are today, under the outstanding leadership of the founding father, Lee Kuan Yew.
A modern museum which has a great layout to provide the best museum experience to its visitors. The Singapore History Gallery depicts the history of the nation right from the 14th century, in a story-telling format, to capture the interest of people. Several images and films related to the Singaporean heritage are projected on the high cylindrical walls of the gallery to tell an age-old tale in a breath-taking manner.
Being considered as the city’s architectural icon, the National Museum of Singapore hosts several festivals and events throughout the year, including film screenings, art installations and interesting exhibitions of a vast collection of artefacts.
