Melaka Sultanate Palace – Life during Melaka Sultanate
The Melaka Sultanate Palace was built to give an insight of what life is like for the royal. It has been constructed as a replica of the original sultanate palace in the 15th century. It gives an insight about the Sultan’s culture and lifestyle.
This museum is supported by zinc and cooper roof and features wooden pillars that are beautifully carved. The palace was crowned the most elaborately designed palace of the year 1459.
The royal and elegantly designed palace have set the stage for many dramas and movies depicting the live of Melaka’s Sultanate ruler.
The excellent wood work in this palace makes the palace look stunning. You will see the huge designed bedrooms of the sultans that look luxurious and elegant curtains hang at the side. The whole structure couldn’t have been designed more intricately. Melaka Sultanate Palace has many floral carvings which makes the place look very grand. Everything here is a piece of art.
There are a total of 7 gallery rooms, each has its own display. A variety of traditional costumes, decorative arts, grand and aristocratic weapons, jewellery, monarchical brassware and crafts can be seen around the palace.
Melaka sultanate palace also preserved the ceramics and pots that were used during the time where Melaka’s Sultanate ruled the city. The elegant ceramics acquaint you with the sultan’s great taste. Even the path from the entrance to the museum has been rolled out in a lavish way. The large area also includes a garden known as ‘the forbidden garden’ where you enjoy fresh air and look at the beautiful fountains.
