Blue Lagoon beach – Port Dickson’s beautiful tranquil beach
Port Dickson has many beautiful beaches that attract locals and tourists, who flock to these beaches every year. Of the many attractive beaches, the Blue Lagoon beach is certainly a stand out.
The Blue Lagoon beach, as the name suggests, is a lagoon which is surrounded by a bay. It is located just beside the Cape Rachardo lighthouse, and is around 17 kilometres away from the town of Port Dickson. Because of its secluded location, it is probably the reason why it is quieter than the other beaches. So, if you prefer a quieter and more peaceful beach, Blue Lagoon beach is a better choice. It just can’t get any more tranquil and serene then here – a nice, small, quiet beach away from the populated beaches.
Nature enthusiasts are in for some surprises, as there are quite a number of wildlife which you might be able to spot on this beach, such as squirrels, monkeys and migratory birds during the migratory season. This is possible because the beach isn’t located very far from the Tanjung Tuan Forest Reserve.
You can also indulge in some fun beach activities when visiting Blue Lagoon beach, such as playing beach volleyball, kayaking, fishing and scuba diving. What is so special about this beach is its shallow waters. When the tide is low, you can walk quite a distance into the waters and it will only reach your knee level. The waters of the Blue Lagoon beach are still and not very deep naturally, because of the bay’s natural depression and sandy banks. Hence, it is absolutely safe for children.
You can also get some food from the food court when you are hungry, and there are also a few shops lined up where you can purchase some mementos, beach wear and gear etc. If you would like to stay overnight, there are a few good accommodation choices available on Blue Lagoon beach.
